Chairman Pearce: a man of greatness

Congressman-turned New Mexico GOP Chairman Steve Pearce won a vote of 276: 101 at today’s state central committee to lead the Republican Party in the state. In recent weeks, Pearce faced opposition by many in his opponent John Rockwell’s camp, with calls for “fresh blood” in the New Mexico party, and other such rhetoric.

Columbus Day renaming would instead honor cannibals

I am an unapologetic and loyal friend of the Native American people in our great nation. Without them, Americans would not have many of the luxuries we enjoy today. Countless Native people have given their lives and service to the United States by fighting in World War I and II, Korea, Vietnam, Desert Storm, and Iraq.

Media capitalizing on migrant suffering

In a piece published yesterday by the New York Times, a big contradiction was made about the migrant invasion happening at the U.S.-Mexico border. The first paragraph of the article reads:

A peaceful march by Central American migrants waiting at the southwestern United States border veered out of control on Sunday afternoon, as hundreds of people tried to evade a Mexican police blockade and run toward a giant border crossing that leads into San Diego.

We have so much to be thankful for

This Thanksgiving, we will celebrate together, united as one nation. Some may still have heavy hearts from this past election, and thoughts of an uncertain future. I am not here to attempt to ease the painful effects of peoples’ votes, nor am I here to lament our losses further.

New Mexico Republicans must persist

Although last week’s election was disastrous for our state, let’s take a moment to think of the great things we have as New Mexicans (at least for now).
