New Mexico’s Rogue Governor

At this point, you’re probably tired of seeing Michelle’s face; I am too. So, to spare us both from the unpleasantness, she is not pictured here. However, she sure has been busy this week trashing patriotic New Mexicans who are fighting for their gun rights, many of whom are members of the National Rifle Association.

Each day, more and more New Mexico counties are passing 2nd Amendment “Sanctuary” resolutions, creating safe havens for lawful citizens to exercise their 2nd Amendment rights. Over ¾ of all counties have passed such legislation, including HEAVILY Democrat areas such as Rio Arriba County.

The news has obviously struck a chord with Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham, as she has been sending out angry tweets from her safe space on the 4th floor of the Capitol, heavily protected by her armed security detail. One could make the case that Lujan Grisham is in a sanctuary of her own.

On Tuesday evening, right before Rio Arriba County’s final decision on a 2nd Amendment “Sanctuary,” Lujan Grisham tweeted out the following: “I’m not daunted by obstacles, whether it’s NRA propaganda, rogue sheriffs throwing a childish pity party or bad-faith critics. Legislative leaders and I will continue to fight the scourge of gun violence in our communities. #nmleg #nmpol #SB8.”

The governor couldn’t resist bashing the NRA for their efforts to help protect New Mexicans’ constitutional rights, so in her eyes, they now spew “propaganda” whenever they use their constitutionally-protected free speech. Her jab at the NRA is laughable since she frequently disseminates “propaganda” from her friends at Planned Parenthood Action supporting abortion, or the gun-grabbing “Everytown.org,” whose sole purpose is to snatch as many guns as possible from law-abiding citizens. By the governor’s own definition, she too is “spew[ing] propaganda.”

In her tweet, Lujan Grisham insulted New Mexico’s sheriffs, calling the ones who support gun rights “rogue,” implying that they can’t do their jobs because they support the Constitution. By the name our governor is making for herself through ostracizing a majority of New Mexico, she doesn’t seem to care about 2020, and how her dangerous polarizing words sound to voters.

Another ironic tinge to the governor’s temper tantrum is her use of the phrase “childish pity party” to describe sheriffs, even though her tweet in itself seems to be a pity party, while a majority of her state defies her, in the sake of constitutionality.

Although no new information from news sources like the Albuquerque Journal or the Santa Fe New Mexican has suggested the governor will attempt to sue counties with 2nd Amendment Sanctuary laws, the word on social media is that Lujan Grisham and Attorney General Hector Balderas have their eyes on a lawsuit.

By supporting bills that would violate the Constitution, and by mocking New Mexico gun owners and sheriffs, Lujan Grisham is displaying just how out-of-touch she is with the common New Mexican. Her actions show how she is the real “rogue” one. She needs to get off her high horse and realize New Mexicans, many of which live in rural areas need their guns to protect themselves and their families. If she doesn’t like that, she should’ve run for governor in California or New York where her idiotically liberal and unenforceable policies will be welcomed.
