On Tuesday, Republicans from all across New Mexico came together at 13 locations across the state for “MAGA Meetups” to watch President Trump’s State of the Union. The events were organized by Trump Victory, a joint field effort between the Republican National Committee and the Trump campaign to flip New Mexico Red in November.
President Trump’s homerun speech highlighted the nation’s unprecedented success in just three short years, with a common-sense vision for our nation’s future. Despite the Democrats’ constant obstruction against Trump’s America First agenda, the Trump Administration has delivered win after win for the American people.
The President’s special guests included Tuskegee Airman and Retired Brigadier General Charles McGee, Paul Morrow, a retired Army veteran creating “opportunity zones” in Montgomery Alabama, Border Patrol Deputy Chief Raul Ortiz from Del Rio from Texas, and many others.
After the President’s powerful speech, New Mexico Republican Party Chairman Steve Pearce said, “President Trump’s Address demonstrated how he has dramatically changed this nation for the better.” He continued, saying, “He is getting the job done and making America great again. Under President Trump, we are getting respect around the world and creating more prosperity and growth at home than ever before.”
Trump Victory Spokesperson Samantha Zager said, “As President Trump addressed Americans at the State of the Union tonight, his unparalleled record of success in his first three years is clear: two dangerous terrorist leaders killed, two Supreme Court Justices confirmed, and two major trade deals signed into law.”
The “MAGA Meetups” appear to be a massive success, as hundreds showed up from around the state, including at the Republican Party of New Mexico headquarters packed to the brim with attendees.
Other meetups were held at La Fonda Restaurant in Artesia, Adobe Deli in Deming, MCM Elegante Lodge and Resort in Ruidoso, Holiday Inn in Roswell, Turquoise Desert Taproom in Rio Rancho, Lea County Republican Headquarters in Hobbs, KC Heaven in Las Cruces, No Worries in Farmington, Jonny Carinos Restaurant in Alamogordo, Pizza Inn in Carlsbad, Urban Taqueria, and other locations in La Mesa and Elephant Butte.
Along with the presidential race, there are other high-profile offices up for grabs in 2020, including retiring Sen. Tom Udall’s U.S. Senate seat and all three congressional districts, one an open seat in the 3rd District. One of the most competitive races will be in New Mexico’s 2nd District where Republicans look to flip back the district from Democrat hands.
I can honestly see NM going Red in November!
